Key Responsibilities
- Assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures, mainly open heart surgeries.
- Provide sterile technique and ensure proper surgical instrumentation and supplies.
- Support patient care by fostering positive therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Participate in emergency on-call rotations every third week for seven days.
- Contribute to surgeries in other specialties when cardiac cases are not scheduled.
- Uphold safety and infection control standards in the operating room.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of College Anatomy and Physiology I course OR certified Central Sterile Processing Technician OR completed hospital-approved Surgical Tech certificate course.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or Red Cross certification.
- Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of OR experience, with at least 1 year recent experience in cardiovascular specialty.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively within an interprofessional team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Emergency call required every third week for seven days.
- Holiday work as needed.
