Warehouse Lead – Sofidel Tissue
Sofidel Tissue, a leading manufacturer of tissue products committed to sustainability and operational excellence, is seeking a Warehouse Lead to join our team. The Warehouse Lead provides team leadership and coaching to all employees within responsibility. This position supports employee engagement and performance through active leadership in the Warehouse Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify product quality for all product within warehouse storage locations
- Assist in continuous improvement projects such as 5S and Kaizen events
- Manage the laser guided vehicle system (LGV) and work with maintenance for scheduled disablement
- Communicate with Paper Machine and Converting Supervisors on any changeovers or issues
- Able to perform all tasks/duties of their respective crew for vacation or absence coverage purposes
- Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (forklift safety, lockout/tagout procedures, confined spaces, appropriate PPE, etc.)
- Participate in crew related safety incidents and help investigate root cause
- Maintain a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities
- Pick up debris/excess tissue, plastic wrap or slip sheets
- Train and direct team members in daily operations of the Warehouse department
- Communicate and track key performance indicators
- Conduct daily GSTD work to drive performance improvement
- Perform daily shift hand off meeting with the oncoming/outgoing Crew Lead to communicate any issues that will impact the shift
- Ensure all team members have the necessary skills to be effective
- Communicate and implement new processes and procedures to the team
- Implement training standards and processes to support Overall Equipment Effectiveness
- Manage daily schedule building, adherence, and attainment for employees on crew
- Approve and sign off on employee qualification cards
- Resolve conflict and show good judgement in the event of an issue amongst team members. Escalate to leadership as needed.
- Communicate after hour issues to Warehouse management
- Work with Shipping Office to ensure a proper dock flow throughout the shift
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- 2 years of experience working in a high-speed warehouse environment preferred
- Internal candidates must have completed Level 2 Qualification, Level 3 preferred
- Forklift or Clamp Truck certification preferred
- Knowledge of various Warehouse Management systems required
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing safety procedures (forklift safety, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, personal protective equipment, etc.) required
- Basic knowledge of Laser Guided Vehicles required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred
- Ability to present to a group of co-workers and/or site leadership preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to influence and lead cross functional teams across all levels of the organization preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
- Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, reaching, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment
- Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
- Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
- Able to wear and comply with all personal protective equipment (Eye and ear protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
- Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.

Day 1: 6:00am – 6:30pm
Day 2: 6:00am – 6:30pm
Day 3: 6:00pm – 6:30am
Day 4: 6:00pm – 6:30am
Day 2: 6:00am – 6:30pm
Day 3: 6:00pm – 6:30am
Day 4: 6:00pm – 6:30am
