Entry Level Callboard – Sofidel Tissue

We are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Entry Level Callboard Employees in our Tissue Machine and Plant Support Warehouse areas. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in the papermaking process from raw materials to finished products while building a career in a fast paced manufacturing environment with opportunities for growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fill in as needed for various entry-level positions in the department.
- Operate forklifts and bale clamp trucks safely and efficiently.
- Handle and transfer chemical totes while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Feed bales and control pulper operations to supply fiber to machines.
- Support dry-end operations and assist experienced operators.
- Assist with maintenance activities during machine downtime.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety programs and incident investigations.
- Maintain cleanliness in and around machines with regular washups and blowdowns.
- Operate forklifts and clamp trucks safely and efficiently.
- Assist in all areas of the Plant Support or Shipping department.
- Fill in for vacancies due to time off.
- Move materials and operate loading equipment.
- Conduct minor maintenance tasks and routine equipment inspections.
- Participate in training programs and apply learned skills on the job.
- Maintain high safety standards and follow workplace policies.
- Support safety investigations and root cause analysis.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting up to 40 lbs. frequently, heavier loads occasionally with assistance).
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience in paper manufacturing or industrial environments is preferred.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
- Ability to learn and follow complex manufacturing processes.
- Exposure to industrial conditions (temperature extremes, noise, steam, dust, hydraulic fluids, etc.).
- Physically active role requiring bending, walking, climbing, and lifting.
- This position follows a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, alternating between day and night shifts
