Finished Goods Warehouse Operator (Amazon Direct Fulfillment) – Sofidel Tissue
Sofidel Tissue, a leading manufacturer of tissue products committed to sustainability and operational excellence, is seeking a Finished Goods Warehouse Operator to join our Amazon Direct Fulfillment Warehouse team. The Finished Goods Warehouse Operator is responsible for selecting and processing customer orders in an E-Commerce environment. Typically, the associate will be case picking customer orders, processing, attaching shipping labels, and staging orders for carrier pickup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.
- Timely pick and process case pack orders for processing and shipping to customers in a direct fulfillment environment.
- Work at a high level of efficiency to maximize daily individual and area performance goals.
- Use of material handling equipment to select products, use of scanners to manage inventory, generate shipping labels, attaching shipping labels to correct carton(s), ensure tender of freight to proper outbound carrier.
- Operating company ERP software systems and procedures.
- Assist as needed in monthly inventory counts for Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure proper care of maintenance of all Company provided equipment.
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of goods and supplies.
- Follow all safety regulations and legal documentation norms pertaining to warehousing.
- Provides back-up and support to other areas as requested.
- Maintain forklift driving certification for Single Forks, Double-Wide, Box-Clamp, Roll-Clamp, and Bale Clamp.
- Conduct regular forklift inspections per required instruction list. Complete mandatory logs and documents.
- Charge batteries and change propane cylinders.
- Operate stretch wrap machine and understand the HU label process.
- Monitor raw materials, finished goods and waste products at all lines.
- Deliver and remove raw materials, finished goods and waste products in a safe and timely manner.
- Band parent rolls cores and put them in the correct recycling or customer return trailers.
- Load and unload goods with the forklifts within the systematic guidelines.
- Stage loads, print, apply product labels and verify all loads to the loading documents.
- Service and support all Machine employee requests.
- Operate balers for towel and tissue broke, cardboard, and poly.
- Operate trash compactors for waste disposal.
- Maintain safe and clean working environments by manually picking up wastepaper and other materials.
- Provide on the job training to new employees as needed.
- Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
- Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Prior experience in an E-commerce environment is preferred
- proficiency with Excel and exposure to SAP or MRP system preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shipping/warehouse and inventory requirements, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals
- Communication skills essential
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
