What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse and Truck Driver Helper position at Society of St?
The Warehouse and Truck Driver Helper will perform a variety of tasks related to the pick-up and delivery of donated goods and merchandise, the distribution of processed and unprocessed merchandise to the warehouse and Thrift Stores.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned daily truck routes
- Complete assigned daily truck routes efficiently and on time.
- Assist with loading and unloading household items, donations, and merchandise.
- Handle all merchandise with care to ensure safety and prevent damage to items or property.
- Unload merchandise from trucks only in designated store and warehouse areas.
- Perform baling and bundling of clothing and textiles for processing.
- Perform daily tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment.
- Follow all organizational safety policies and procedures.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with donors, staff, and volunteers.
- Basic communication skills, along with good personal appearance and hygiene.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs to waist level and up to 50 lbs overhead with assistance.
- Ability to climb ladders, steps, and stairways while maneuvering large items such as furniture or appliances.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment under varying conditions (e.g., heat, cold, dust).
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of St. Vincent de Paul.
