What are the responsibilities and job description for the SV-Host/Door position at SoB?
Position Summary
The host is the first and last impression of our restaurant. In this high-volume role, you will manage guest flow, maintain organized seating, and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere; even during peak service hours. The ideal candidate is outgoing, confident, personable, and energized by busy environments.
Key Responsibilities
Greet all guests promptly with a genuine smile and positive attitude
Manage waitlists efficiently using reservation and seating systems
Communicate accurate wait times and manage guest expectations
Coordinate seating to optimize table turnover and server balance
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting host stand and entrance area
Answer phones professionally and assist with reservations
Assist guests with special requests and accommodate needs whenever possible
Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth service flow
Thank guests sincerely as they depart and invite them to return
Qualifications
Outgoing, extroverted personality with strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable speaking confidently to large groups and handling high guest traffic
Ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Positive attitude with a team-first mindset
Prior host or customer service experience preferred (high-volume experience a plus)
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
