Personal Injury Paralegal - Baltimore, Maryland (Onsite)
Opportunity Overview
A growing plaintiff-side litigation practice in Baltimore is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys and clients throughout all phases of personal injury litigation. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working directly with clients and managing cases from intake through settlement or trial.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in case development, client communication, document management, and litigation support while helping ensure clients receive exceptional service during challenging times.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage personal injury files from initial intake through final resolution.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, insurance carriers, healthcare providers, experts, and opposing counsel.
- Obtain, organize, review, and summarize medical records, medical bills, and wage loss documentation.
- Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, demand packages, and other case-related documents.
- Coordinate investigations and gather supporting evidence, including accident reports, witness statements, photographs, and expert materials.
- Monitor client treatment progress and maintain accurate case records.
- Track deadlines, court dates, depositions, hearings, and client appointments.
- Assist attorneys with discovery, mediation, arbitration, trial preparation, and other litigation activities.
- Prepare settlement packages and assist with settlement processing and distributions.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
- Deliver outstanding client service while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of plaintiff personal injury paralegal experience.
- Experience handling motor vehicle accident, premises liability, wrongful death, and general negligence cases.
- Strong understanding of Maryland personal injury litigation procedures.
- Experience obtaining, reviewing, and summarizing medical records and preparing demand packages.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple active files and competing deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Trial preparation experience.
- Familiarity with Maryland state court filing procedures and deadlines.
- Experience working with insurance adjusters, healthcare providers, and lienholders.
- Knowledge of settlement calculations, accounting, and disbursement processes.
- Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
