SNI Companies is seeking a collaborative and experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day accounting operations in our fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing organization. In this role, you will lead a team of accounting professionals, drive operational excellence, and play a key role in maintaining compliance with government contracting regulations while supporting the company's continued growth.
Key Responsiblities:
- Lead and oversee daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost accounting functions.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of six accounting professionals, including one Accountant, three Specialists, and two Paraprofessionals.
- Manage weekly cash forecasting, vendor payment processing, and customer collections.
- Coordinate and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to support financial integrity and audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiencies, and strengthen financial reporting.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to support operational and strategic business initiatives.
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities and provide required documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- 2–3 years of experience leading and developing accounting teams.
- Strong manufacturing accounting experience is required.
- Experience within aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments is highly preferred.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
