A respected and growing Maryland law practice is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to lead and expand an established employment law practice. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial attorney to take ownership of an existing book of employment matters while helping shape the future direction of the practice.

The ideal candidate will bring deep employment law expertise, strong litigation skills, excellent client relationship management abilities, and a desire to build and mentor a growing team. This role offers a leadership path with meaningful influence over strategy, business development, and practice growth.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a wide range of employment law issues and workforce-related matters.
- Represent employers and business clients in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, severance agreements, workplace policies, and related documents.
- Manage employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other court filings.
- Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial work.
- Provide strategic counseling on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Develop and expand client relationships through networking, referrals, and business development initiatives.
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff.
- Contribute to the long-term growth and leadership of the employment practice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active Maryland Bar admission and good standing required.
- Minimum of 5 years of employment law experience, including litigation.
- Strong knowledge of employment statutes, regulations, and workplace compliance requirements.
- Experience handling employment disputes, investigations, and restrictive covenant matters.
- Familiarity with administrative agencies and employment-related proceedings.
- Excellent research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Strong client development and relationship management abilities.
- Leadership mindset with the desire to help build and grow a practice.
- Portable business is welcomed but not required.

Pay range and compensation package
Compensation: $175,000β$300,000 Benefits
