What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at Smurfit Westrock?
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on position that will supervise maintenance technicians, the plant janitorial staff and service contractors. The Supervisor will perform equipment/line set-ups and service or repair operating equipment as well as schedule, perform and document Preventative Maintenance for required plant and production equipment.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
- Assist, schedule, and direct Maintenance Technician(s) to set up and maintain equipment to meet customer production requirements.
- Assist, schedule and direct the plant Janitorial Staff to perform cleaning and sanitation procedures detailed in the Daily and Master Sanitation Outlines.
- Assist, schedule, and direct Service Contractors to perform repairs and installations following WestRock Safety procedures and guidelines.
- Help create department budget with General Managers Guidance.
- Form close relationships with vendors to build knowledge, training and support on the equipment.
- Perform and document Preventative Maintenance (PM) using the MP2 program guidelines.
- Purchase and maintain inventories for service/repair parts and janitorial supplies to support plant operations.
- Conform to WestRock, OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations for the use, storage, shipment and disposal of all regulated chemicals and products used in the plant.
- Conform to WestRock, Alliance and OSHA guidelines and regulations for employee safety in the workplace.
What you need to succeed:
- High school diploma or GED minimum
- In depth knowledge of the Assembly operation and maintenance requirements for packaging equipment (auto, semi-auto, manual : shrink wrapping, overwrapping, cartooning, labeling, coding, case taping, check weighing, and stretch wrappers), and for Plant/Facility equipment and systems ( HVAC, air compressors, lighting systems, power distribution systems, dock equipment, and plumbing)
- A thorough knowledge of machine maintenance shop equipment (drill press, metal saws, mill, lathe, forklift truck, and hi-lift work platforms.

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
