1st Shift Available: 7AM-3PM (2nd Shift: $3.00/hr shift differential)

The Opportunity:
- The Finishing Utility Level 1 – Material Handler position is responsible for determining the materials necessary for each order and ensuring these materials are available at the gluer before production begins.
- Prints labels as needed for order based on information from job jacket.
- Prepares the Padlocker Control Information Form and forwards to the Padlocker Operator.
- Checks order instructions to verify proper case/pad/scored uboard to pull from inventory.
- Use AS400 to locate cases and move to the floor.
- Drive lift to warehouse and retrieve cases, bring back to Finishing Department.
- Place corrugated at designated areas.
- Return excess corrugated to inventory when job is complete.
- Reads and understands work schedule to determine the next order for gluing operation.
- Verifies number of pallets from Cutting Department with number of pallets to be glued.
- Reviews the Finishing instructions in the Order Instructions Display Program for customer specifications and special instructions.
- Determines and cuts the correct size layer board, dividers, and uboards that are to be used for the order.
- Checks and verifies the order number from the cutting load tag to the job jacket; moves pallet to gluer.
- Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties.
What you need to succeed:
- 1-year work related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- On the job training will be required for this position.
- Good computer skills
- Good problem-solving skills.
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good communication skills
- Good mathematical ability, including understanding of measurements.
- Attention to detail required, properly filling out documentation and interpreting specific order instructions.
- Good organization and time managements skills.
- Basic understanding of Zebra label printer, in order to change labels/ribbons.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
