Credentialing Specialist
Location: Summit, NJ
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Position Summary
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all healthcare providers meet required qualifications, regulatory standards, and facility bylaws. This role manages credentialing and re-credentialing processes, verifies provider information, prepares committee materials, and maintains accurate data within the Echo credentialing database. The specialist supports compliance, documentation accuracy, and efficient processing of all provider files.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage credentialing and re-credentialing applications (125–200 quarterly).
- Verify provider credentials including licensure, education, training, certifications, and malpractice history.
- Maintain and update provider records in Echo credentialing database.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility bylaws and regulatory standards (TJC, NCQA, etc.).
- Prepare materials for Credentials Committee, MEC, and Board of Trustees meetings.
- Set up, track, and maintain provider privileges and expiration dates.
- Collect dues and maintain documentation for site-based medical staff.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of the credentialing process and regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to research, analyze, and verify complex data.
- Proficient computer skills; experience with Echo preferred.
Pay: $1,150.00 - $1,350.00 per week
