Key Responsibilities
- Lead recruiting, retention, and succession planning
- Own full-cycle recruiting: job postings, interviews, offers, and onboarding
- Manage new hire orientation and offboarding
- Set up/manage ATS and recruiting systems
- Attend job fairs and build relationships with schools/colleges to help make Smith a "destination company."
- Support leadership and employees on policies, performance, and conflict resolution
- Strengthen engagement initiatives and internal communication
- Build trust and employee relationships; celebrate wins
- Maintain accurate files/records, attendance, PTO, and benefits tracking
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Support investigations, disciplinary meetings, and terminations
- Track HR metrics (turnover, retention, recruiting pipeline)
- Support payroll processing and time management
- Administer benefits programs and assist with enrollment/questions
- Support compensation structure and handbook updates
- Partner with leaders on job descriptions, career ladders, and training needs
- 2 or more years of HR experience preferred (employee relations experience strongly preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills, writing skills, and attention to detail
- Solid organization/time management; ability to work autonomously
- HRIS experience
- Microsoft/Google tools (Word/Excel/Docs/Sheets)
- Landscape/snow industry experience is a plus (not required)
- Full-time, W-2 Employment
- Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 per year
