The Staff Accountant will play a key role in fund and corporate accounting, with ownership over one or more investment funds and related entities. Title: Staff Accountant (Investment Accounting)
Location: Stamford, CT
Protentional Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000
Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for assigned investment funds and corporate entities
- Record and review accounting activity related to investment portfolios and financing structures
- Perform month-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
- Reconcile general ledger, cash, and third-party accounts
- Maintain accounting records and supporting schedules
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and related disclosures
- Coordinate with third-party service providers, including mortgage servicers and administrators
- Support external audit and tax reporting processes
- Assist with accounts payable and cash management activities
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and special projects
- Partner with the CFO, Controller, and broader finance team on ad hoc requests
Qualifications:
- BS degree in accounting
- 2 Experience with Real estate fund accounting, hedge fund, PE, credit products
- Experience working in public accounting
- Preference for CPA/public accounting background
- Working knowledge of mortgage loans is preferred
- Proficiency in Excel, and ERP systems like SAP Business One/NetSuite/Oracle
