Staff Accountant

Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Westport, CT / Hybrid

Salary: $60,000 to $70,000

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, general ledger activities, and financial reporting. This position will work closely with the VP of Finance and serve as a trusted right-hand partner, supporting accurate reporting and efficient financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable invoicing and ensure timely, accurate billing
• Perform cash applications and investigate/reconcile payment discrepancies
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist with monthly close activities and financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for internal management
• Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership as needed
• Provide ad hoc analysis and support directly to the VP of Finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1–5 years of accounting experience (SaaS or media industry experience a plus)
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and AR processes
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment
• Proficient with accounting systems and Excel
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
