We're looking for a Director of Marketing for SmartScout. SmartScout is a software startup based out of Logan Utah. We're looking someone who can make an impact as both a leader of the marketing department and can help take us to the next era. SmartScout is a respected software in the Amazon ecommerce world. Experience and exposure to ecommerce/Amazon is helpful, but not required. Additionally, experience in B2B marketing is helpful but not required.
Experience
- 3 years of marketing experience, preferably in startups or high-growth environments
- Proven track record of building marketing programs from scratch
- Experience owning strategy and execution (player-coach mindset)
Core Responsibilities & Skills
- Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy aligned with business goals
- Build brand positioning and messaging with limited resources
- Drive demand generation and pipeline growth
- Hands-on execution across:
- Digital marketing (paid ads, email, SEO, content)
- Website and landing page optimization
- Social media and brand presence
- Analyze performance, define KPIs, and adjust quickly based on data
- Manage lean budgets and maximize ROI
- Collaborate closely with founders, sales, and product teams
Tools & Technical Ability
- Comfortable using scrappy, cost-effective tools (e.g., HubSpot, Webflow, Google Analytics)
- CRM and basic marketing automation experience
- Strong understanding of analytics and attribution (even if imperfect)
Leadership
- Ability to build, manage, and scale a small marketing team over time
- Experience working with contractors, freelancers, or agencies
Personal Traits
- Highly adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity
- Bias toward action and experimentation
- Resourceful and creative with limited budget
- Willing to roll up sleeves and execute daily
- Founder-level ownership mindset
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience acceptable
- MBA not required

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
