Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Smart Home Security Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of security and automation systems in both residential and commercial settings. Your expertise will help ensure our customers' homes and businesses are safe, connected, and smart. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot security systems including alarms, CCTV surveillance, sensors, and access control devices.
- Perform system design assessments to determine optimal placement of sensors, cameras, and other components.
- Conduct cabling, low voltage wiring, and electrical work required for system setup using power tools and hand tools.
- Test network connectivity for remote access software and ensure seamless integration with telecommunication systems.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately install and service equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and respond promptly to service calls for troubleshooting issues or upgrades.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain system features, provide training on operation, and promote alarm system sales.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles relevant to security systems and remote access software.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and construction techniques.
- Proven field service experience with security system installation or maintenance.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components related to surveillance equipment and alarm systems.
- Expertise in system design for low voltage wiring, CCTV installation, sensors placement, and fire alarm integration.
- Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), surveillance technology including CCTV cameras, sensors, and alarm systems.
- Electrical experience with cabling practices for telecommunication and security applications.
- Experience in locksmithing or lock hardware installation is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics accurately for system setup or troubleshooting.
- Understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards related to low voltage wiring installations.
