Salary Range: Upto $150,000 per year

Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 (Partial Package)

Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director – Medical Surgical to lead and oversee the operations of the Medical/Surgical units, including Telemetry. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and staff development while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.

The Director will play a critical role in building strong teams, implementing quality initiatives, and collaborating with physicians and hospital leadership to enhance patient outcomes and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all functions of the Medical/Surgical units, including Telemetry.
• Manage, mentor, and support nursing and clinical staff to maintain high standards of patient care.
• Develop, implement, and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Oversee budgeting, productivity management, and operational performance.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical partnerships.
• Support program development and strategic planning for the department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.
• Current or eligible New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Minimum 7 years of healthcare experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong experience in leadership, program development, budgeting, and productivity management.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, or MBA preferred.
• Experience working in a for-profit hospital environment.
• Proven success in building teams focused on quality and performance initiatives.
• Experience developing strong relationships with healthcare providers.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required
