Salary Range: Upto $150,000 per year
Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 (Partial Package)
Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director – Medical Surgical to lead and oversee the operations of the Medical/Surgical units, including Telemetry. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and staff development while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
The Director will play a critical role in building strong teams, implementing quality initiatives, and collaborating with physicians and hospital leadership to enhance patient outcomes and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all functions of the Medical/Surgical units, including Telemetry.
- Manage, mentor, and support nursing and clinical staff to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Develop, implement, and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Oversee budgeting, productivity management, and operational performance.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical partnerships.
- Support program development and strategic planning for the department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.
- Current or eligible New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Minimum 7 years of healthcare experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience in leadership, program development, budgeting, and productivity management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, or MBA preferred.
- Experience working in a for-profit hospital environment.
- Proven success in building teams focused on quality and performance initiatives.
- Experience developing strong relationships with healthcare providers.
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required
