Position Summary
Under the immediate supervision of the Manager of Radiology, the Assistant Manager – Outpatient Imaging supports the department’s operational, financial, and clinical objectives. This role is responsible for daily supervision of Lead Technologists, Senior Technologists, and technical staff, while ensuring compliance with imaging quality standards, patient care excellence, and regulatory requirements.
The Assistant Manager will actively participate in program development, departmental performance improvement, and staff education while demonstrating the core values of Enloe Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily staffing requirements to meet budget and productivity targets.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff; promote employee satisfaction and professional growth.
- Enforce departmental policies, regulatory compliance, and image quality standards.
- Support the department’s organizational goals and service excellence initiatives.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and monitor patient service delivery.
- Act as liaison between patients/families, physicians, and care teams to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with hospital departments to coordinate and optimize imaging services.
- Research and resolve interdepartmental problems while maintaining patient-centered care.
- Maintain technical competency in diagnostic imaging and function clinically as needed.
- Complete annual staff evaluations in a timely and constructive manner.
Education / Training / Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Five (5) years of experience as a Diagnostic Technologist in an acute-care setting.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in an acute-care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of prior supervisory/managerial experience.
Licenses / Certifications
Required:
- Current Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the CA Department of Health Services OR current ARRT license.
- Current CPR Certification.
Preferred:
- Certification in a specialized imaging area (e.g., CRT, NMTBC, MRI, etc.).
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, and ACR compliance standards.
- Proficiency in diagnostic imaging principles, patient positioning, radiation protection, and quality assurance.
- Proven leadership and staff management skills.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to motivate, delegate, and analyze operational needs.
- Resourceful in monitoring, evaluating, and administering departmental resources.
Patients Served
This position provides care for patients across multiple age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Salary : $100,000 - $160,000
