Location: South Gate, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (No weekends)
Compensation: $19/hr to start; $21.50/hr upon hire with full union benefits
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and physically capable Material Handler / Record Center Specialist to support daily warehouse operations. This role involves continuous heavy lifting, movement, and organization of stored materials. Candidates must be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment and handling boxes weighing up to 100 lbs without assistance.
Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 9‐hour shift including:
- One 30‐minute lunch
- Two 15‐minute breaks
- No weekend work
Primary Responsibilities
- Move, lift, carry, and arrange boxes, bins, and totes weighing from 24 lbs to over 100 lbs.
- Process incoming and outgoing orders for files, books, binders, backup tapes, and other stored materials.
- Load and operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material‐handling equipment.
- Use handheld scanners and proprietary computer systems to track inventory and locate materials.
- Load and shrink‐wrap pallets at ground level or on carts.
- Manually load boxes onto pallets and assist with loading pallets onto trucks.
- Climb ladders and maintain balance while retrieving or storing materials.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent and repetitive physical activity, including:
- Walking and standing for extended periods
- Kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, twisting
- Lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs without assistance
- Navigating inclines, stairs, and uneven surfaces while carrying materials
- Working on concrete flooring in a warehouse environment
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to safely grip, lift, push, pull, and carry heavy materials
- Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and related equipment
- Comfortable using handheld scanners and basic computer systems
- Ability to climb ladders safely
Safety Requirements
- Protective footwear is required
- Footwear must meet ASTM F2413‐11 safety toe standards
- Footwear must have a slip‐resistant rating of
