Job Title: Yard Equipment Operator (2 Openings)
Location: Granbury, TX then Brock, TX
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire, Potentially Perm to start
Shift: 5am-6pm
Job Summary:
Skilled Performance is currently seeking experienced Yard Equipment Operators to support our facility operations by safely and efficiently handling the movement of heavy equipment and materials. This role requires strong forklift experience and a proactive approach to maintaining an organized and efficient yard environment. Experience with gantry cranes is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts of various sizes to load, unload, and transport heavy equipment and materials within the yard and facility.
- Safely maneuver large or awkward loads in tight spaces with precision and care.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and material storage.
- Assist with staging equipment and supplies for production or shipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and material storage areas.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations while operating equipment.
- Operate gantry cranes when necessary (if trained/qualified).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating forklifts of various sizes in an industrial or yard setting.
- Familiarity with or experience operating gantry cranes.
- Basic understanding of material handling and logistics.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and a variety of outdoor environments.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Strong spatial awareness and attention to safety.
- Dependable with strong time-management skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 60 per week
