Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Skies the Limit Academy, LLC, a federal government contractor and childcare services provider, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Teacher to join our team at Brookhaven National Laboratory!
We are hiring for our Toddler (18 months–3 years) and Early Preschool (3-year-old) classrooms. We are looking for motivated individuals who enjoy working with young children and are passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
Our childcare center is conveniently located near the Long Island Expressway, off William Floyd Parkway.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Establish positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Provide leadership and guidance to classroom staff.
- Support children's developing independence, communication, social skills, and daily routines.
- Maintain classroom documentation and ensure compliance with childcare licensing requirements and program policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center preferred, particularly with toddlers or young preschool-aged children.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and clearances.
Federal Facility Access Requirement: A REAL ID-compliant driver's license, enhanced driver's license, or valid passport is required for employment at our Brookhaven National Laboratory location.
