If you thrive on variety, stay on your feet, and can pivot from one task to the next without missing a beat, this is your role. As a Utility Operator, you'll be the go-to team member across multiple departments jumping in wherever the mill needs you to keep production moving safely and efficiently.
This is a hands-on, physically active role built for someone who's adaptable, dependable, and ready to move. You won't be doing the same thing every shift, you'll be trained across multiple areas, machines, and tasks, and you'll need to shift gears quickly as priorities change throughout the day.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and operate a variety of machinery across the mill, adapting to whatever department needs support that shift
- Move throughout the plant supporting different operations, teams, and tasks as priorities shift in real time
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep equipment running reliably
- Perform physical tasks throughout your shift, including standing, walking, lifting, and hands-on equipment work for extended periods
- Respond quickly to changing production needs, flexibility and quick thinking are part of the job
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of system performance, maintenance activities, and incidents
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment required
- Physical stamina — this role requires being on your feet, moving, and staying active throughout your shift
- Flexibility and adaptability — willingness to rotate between departments, tasks, and even shifts (including nights and weekends) as needed
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate across teams and departments
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Work Environment
This is a hands-on, physically demanding plant role with exposure to heat, noise, moving equipment, and forklift traffic. You'll be actively moving throughout your shift standing, walking, and working across multiple areas of the plant. Required PPE includes safety glasses and safety shoes.
