Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Paralegal to join the team of SJKP, LLP in Manhattan, NY. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our Corporate and Immigration attorneys by maintaining the court calendar, coordinating and confirming depositions, drafting legal documents (including discovery responses), and providing comprehensive case support.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct support to two attorneys (Corporate and Immigration) in all aspects of case and transaction management
• Prepare, review, and organize legal documents, including contracts, corporate filings, visa petitions, and supporting evidence packages
• Manage case calendars, deadlines, and client communications to ensure timely filings and responses
• Conduct legal and factual research to support case strategy and corporate transactions
• Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to gather and verify required information and documentation
• Maintain organized case files, both electronic and physical, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with firm protocols
• Assist with preparation of presentations, checklists, and procedural guides for clients and internal use
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience, preferably in corporate law, immigration law, or both
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional office setting
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with legal practice management software a plus
Preferred Qualifications
• Paralegal Certificate preferred
• Familiarity with U.S. immigration processes (USCIS, DOS) and/or corporate compliance procedures highly desirable
• Experience with bilingual or multicultural client communications
• Familiarity with international business transactions or cross-border legal matters
• Prior law firm experience supporting both transactional and administrative work
