Are you an experienced Personal Trainer with a desire to work with clients with and without physical impairments to assist them in properly carrying out their fitness program? Do you have a warm, approachable manner and experience interacting with the general public? The Siskin Health & Fitness Center at Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation has a vacancy on the team for a Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer. The successful candidate will -

• Educate clients and enforce policies regarding safe and proper use of equipment.
• Develop, document, and implement one-on-one, partner, or group workout programs that match the needs and the goals of the clients.
• Instruct clients on basic exercise physiology and instruct them on proper lifting and exercise techniques.
• Have knowledge of all fitness floor policies, programs, and services and be able to communicate this information to a diverse group of patrons.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment for all clients with and without physical impairments.
• Work with customer service representative to ensure clients are rescheduling and paying for their sessions.
• Work closely with supervisor to ensure that all fitness center staff consistently exhibit strong customer service behaviors.
• Carry out duties relative to the opening and closing of the center.
• Provide tours of the facility and assist in signing of membership agreements.
• Assist members in signing up for groups / ancillary services.
• Demonstrate ability to run exercise groups and carry out all duties associated with this.
• After competencies are established, assist in the training of new Fitness Center staff.
• Assist in maintaining organization and cleanliness of facility.
• Assist with management of resale items.
  
  

Education

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Science is preferred.
  
  

Experience

• 1-3 years of working knowledge of exercise and fitness and prefer individuals who have experience with adult physical disabilities.
• Experience with interacting with the general public is preferred.
  
  

Licensure/Certification

• Current CPR Certification
• Current Personal Trainer Certification (NASM, ACSM, ACE, NCSF, CSCS)
