Job Duties
- Provide business office support
- Bill all inpatient accounts
- Follow-up on inpatient Medicare collections
Minimum Qualifications/Equivalents:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare billing
- Some project coordination experience
- Working knowledge of the pre-certification process
- Insurance verification
- Medical coding
- Interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements
- Posting payment and contractual adjustments
- Collecting patient liability accounts
- Auditing payments versus expected reimbursement
- Self-motivated; must carry out extended projects with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Working knowledge of managed care and Medicare reimbursement
- Data entry proficiency equivalent to 50 words per minute
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously
