Overview
The Head Soccer Coach is responsible for leading a Christ-centered soccer program that develops student-athletes spiritually, personally, and athletically. This position exists to cultivate a positive, competitive team culture aligned with the mission, values, and pursuit of excellence at Silverdale Baptist Academy.
Responsibilities
- Lead and model a Christ-centered approach to coaching that reflects the mission, core values, and Statement of Faith of Silverdale Baptist Academy.
- Create a team culture built on trust, character, accountability, and connection.
- Evaluate individual student-athletes and develop a coaching plan that helps each athlete grow from their point of need toward their full potential.
- Plan and implement well-structured practices that emphasize skill development, teamwork, discipline, and effort.
- Teach the game of soccer with clarity and intentionality, emphasizing fundamentals, strategy, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate proactively and professionally with student-athletes and parents/guardians regarding expectations, schedules, and program standards.
- Oversee all practices, games (home and away), and postseason competition.
- Support the holistic development of student-athletes, including character, leadership, and personal responsibility.
- Conduct preseason conditioning and practices, if applicable.
- Following Academy Approval, may operate school vehicles and transport student athletes to games/events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Previous soccer coaching or competitive playing experience at the high school and/or club level (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Ability to teach technical skills while emphasizing mental discipline and personal responsibility.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes, promoting teamwork and personal growth.
- Ability to exercise discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential & sensitive student/family matters.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to commit to the full season, including practices, games, and tournaments.
- Completion of required TSSAA courses, CPR, and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Personal faith in Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission of SIlverdale Baptist Academy, and agreement with the SBA Statement of Faith.
