Responsibilities

- Athletics as Ministry: View coaching as an opportunity to mentor and disciple student-athletes, guiding them in their spiritual journey while building athletic skills.

- Partnering with Stakeholders: Collaborative mindset to work alongside parents, fellow coaches, and school administration to ensure the success of the program.

Additional Responsibilities
Head Coach
- Program Oversight: Develop, coordinate, and lead practice, game, and workout schedules in compliance with TSSAA guidelines, working closely with school administration and other teams in the conference/district.
- Team Leadership: Guide and manage the coaching staff, ensuring alignment with the program’s values and mission.
- Athlete Development: Focus on the physical, spiritual, and character development of each student-athlete as they progress through the program.
- Spiritual Growth: Take an active role in promoting the spiritual growth of student-athletes, integrating faith and biblical principles into the team culture.
- Program Consistency: Ensure that there is consistency in coaching philosophies and practices across all grade levels in the program.
- Team Logistics: Maintain uniforms, order team gear, and ensure that all materials adhere to the school’s standards and guidelines.
Assistant Coach:
- Support Role: Assist the head coach in executing the responsibilities outlined above, attending practices, games, and team-building events.
- Commitment: Be available to commit to all required team events and support the team’s development, both spiritually and athletically.
Athlete Support: Help foster the spiritual, physical, and emotional growth of student-athletes in alignment with the Academy’s core values.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
- Sport-Specific Expertise: Advanced knowledge and understanding of the sport being coached.
- Coaching Experience: Prior coaching experience preferred, with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire athletes.
- Commitment to Values: A passion for coaching as a ministry, demonstrating a commitment to the spiritual, academic, and athletic growth of student-athletes.
- Team Leadership: Ability to lead by example, fostering a positive, supportive, and competitive team culture.
