What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Admissions position at SILVERDALE BAPTIST ACADEMY?
In conjunction with the administration and the Advancement Director, the Director of Admissions leads, manages and evaluates the student enrollment process – from inquiry through admissions to assimilation into the Academy's culture.
Along with process management, the position provides creative oversight, in keeping with the Academy's mission, to draw, enroll, and retain mission appropriate students.
This individual must possess a thorough understanding of our Christian philosophy of education in order to clearly articulate both what it is and what it is not.
Responsibilities
- Respond to all new student inquiries with the goal of cultivating relationships of all mission appropriate families.
- Manage the admissions process, from first inquiry to assimilation.
- Maintain appropriate admission statistics and evaluate to monitor effectiveness of the admissions process.
- Establish recruitment strategies to draw and keep mission-appropriate families.
- In conjunction with the Advancement team, develop a few admissions marketing tools, events and advertising campaigns, etc. to catch the attention of mission appropriate families.
- Work with assistants to schedule interviews for prospective families.
- Help provide tours of campus – both individual and group.
- Design/produce mailings and correspondence pertinent to the admissions process.
- Educate and enlist faculty and staff to assist where needed in the admission process.
- Establish, maintain and evaluate appropriate systems to facilitate family visits, student testing, and interviewing.
- In conjunction with the administration and the Advancement team, develop and evaluate the screening process for both mission appropriateness and academic readiness.
- Keep appropriate records and statistics throughout the enrollment process.
- In conjunction with the administrative and development staff, evaluate applicants for admission.
- In conjunction with administration and the Advancement team, develop tools and programs to assist in new student assimilation.
- Develop a detailed one to three-year marketing plan to target, nurture, enroll and keep mission appropriate students.
- Assist with Advancement events and activities.

- Has a full understanding and is in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Silverdale Baptist Academy and has a strong commitment to school philosophy.

- Prompt and continuous attendance on campus
- Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred in Nonprofit Management or Business Administration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capacity to initiate and nurture relationships with potential Academy families
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency: FACTS, Word, Google Docs, etc.
- Understanding of marketing principles as they relate to student admissions
- Ability to long range plan and manage the daily details of implementation
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong time management skills
