SHR Talent is partnering with a client in the state of Florida in its search for a Manager of Surgical Services. Our client is seeking an experienced perioperative nursing leader to oversee surgical services operations, support high-quality patient care delivery, and drive operational excellence within a fast-paced acute care hospital environment.
The Manager of Surgical Services will provide leadership for surgical services operations, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with clinical, operational, and regulatory standards. The Manager of Surgical Services will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support department performance, staff development, and exceptional patient outcomes. The ideal candidate for the Manager of Surgical Services role will bring strong operating room leadership experience, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to lead effectively in a dynamic perioperative setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day leadership for surgical services operations, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care across assigned perioperative departments
- Support clinical and operational performance through effective staff leadership, workflow oversight, and coordination of patient care activities
- Ensure compliance with nursing practice standards, hospital policies, accreditation requirements, and regulatory guidelines
- Partner with physicians, anesthesia teams, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary stakeholders to support continuity of care and efficient surgical services operations
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, clinical outcomes, service excellence, and operational performance
- Participate in rounding, issue resolution, and proactive patient care support to enhance the overall patient experience
- Oversee department readiness related to staffing, equipment, supplies, and operational efficiency
- Support staff coaching, team development, and a collaborative, high-performance clinical culture
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license, required
- Associate’s degree, required
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- 3 years of recent acute care operating room leadership experience, required
- Prior experience in surgical services leadership, perioperative management, operating room supervision, or similar hospital-based leadership roles, strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of perioperative operations, patient safety standards, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required, or ability to obtain within required timeframe
- Proven leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team development skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment
