SHR Talent is partnering with a client in the state of Florida in its search for a Director of Trauma Program. Our client is seeking an experienced trauma leadership professional to oversee trauma program operations, drive performance improvement initiatives, and support the delivery of high-quality trauma care within a fast-paced acute care hospital environment.
The Director of Trauma Program will serve as a key operational leader responsible for trauma program oversight, quality improvement, regulatory readiness, clinical collaboration, and strategic program development. The Director of Trauma Program will work closely with executive leadership, physicians, nursing teams, and interdisciplinary stakeholders to ensure exceptional trauma care delivery, compliance with trauma standards, and continued program advancement. The ideal candidate for the Director of Trauma Program role will be a subject matter expert in trauma program operations with strong leadership, communication, and performance improvement experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership for the trauma program, ensuring effective coordination of trauma services across the care continuum
- Lead trauma program performance improvement initiatives, including quality reviews, audits, case evaluations, and identification of process improvement opportunities
- Monitor clinical outcomes, operational metrics, and system performance related to trauma care delivery
- Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, emergency department teams, and executive leadership to support trauma program effectiveness and patient outcomes
- Oversee trauma registry utilization, reporting, data analysis, and confidentiality standards to support quality improvement and program performance
- Manage trauma verification and re-verification readiness, ensuring compliance with applicable trauma accreditation and regulatory standards
- Support strategic planning, resource utilization, and operational performance initiatives for the trauma program
- Serve as a liaison with local and regional trauma systems to support coordinated care and community partnerships
- Address operational issues, patient concerns, and day-to-day trauma program leadership needs
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license, required
- Associate’s degree, required
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- 5 years of recent acute care trauma leadership experience, required
- Prior experience in roles such as Trauma Program Manager, Trauma Coordinator, Trauma Director, or similar trauma leadership positions, strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of trauma program operations, trauma verification standards, quality improvement methodologies, and trauma performance improvement processes
- Experience partnering with physicians, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary clinical teams
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain within required timeframe
- Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
