SHR Talent is partnering with a Restaurant and Hospitality Client based out of Virginia that is need of a strong General Manager for their store in Norfolk, VA. The General Manager is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, hands-on leader to join a dynamic and growing team within the food and beverage industry. As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including team leadership, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate for the General Manager role will possess a strong business acumen, a deep commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience, exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of restaurant operations, including food safety and labor regulations, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, a flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed, and proven experience managing a high-volume restaurant or hospitality venue.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient and profitable performance
- Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house and back-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service
- Monitor and manage inventory, food and labor costs, and vendor relationships
- Create and implement operational policies and procedures to improve service quality and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety, labor laws, and sanitation standards
- Drive revenue through local marketing initiatives, promotional events, and customer engagement strategies
- Analyze financial reports to identify trends, optimize performance, and make data-driven decisions
- Resolve customer complaints and conflicts in a professional and timely manner
- Recruit, hire, and onboard new staff members in collaboration with Human Resources
- Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the company’s core values
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field, preferred but not required
- 5 years of experience as a General Manager or equivalent leadership role in the restaurant or hospitality industry
- ServSafe Certification or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment, preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven track record of managing budgets, controlling costs, and increasing profitability
- Multi-Unit Management experience, a plus
