SHR Talent is partnering with a nationally recognized logistics group based out of Garden City, GA in its search for an experienced Account Manager to drive client retention, grow revenue, and serve as the primary point of contact for B2B customers across the Suffolk, VA area.
The ideal Account Manager will combine strong relationship-building skills, consultative sales experience, and proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to manage a portfolio of accounts, identify upsell opportunities, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. The Account Manager is an on-site/hybrid role in Suffolk, VA that offers the chance to work with a growing team, influence account strategy, and contribute to regional business development.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary account contact for assigned clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
- Develop account plans and growth strategies to increase revenue, cross-sell services, and upsell solutions
- Manage day-to-day client communications, resolving issues quickly and proactively
- Conduct regular business reviews, performance reporting, and forecasting for account portfolio
- Collaborate with sales, operations, marketing, and product teams to align customer needs with company offerings
- Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to track activity, pipeline, and account health
- Identify churn risks and implement retention initiatives and client success plans
- Onboard new clients, coordinate implementation, and ensure successful adoption of products and services
- Meet and exceed quarterly and annual account growth, retention, and satisfaction key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Travel locally within the Suffolk, VA area to meet clients onsite, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field, preferred, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of account management, client success, or Business-to-Business (B2B) sales experience in Suffolk, VA area, preferred
- Proven track record of meeting revenue targets, growing accounts, and reducing churn
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
- Ability to analyze account metrics, create reports, and present actionable insights to stakeholders
- Highly organized, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel within the Suffolk, VA area
