The Shoppa’s Material Handling team is seeking a Summer 2026 intern to lead a documentation initiative focused on standardizing processes and improving knowledge transfer. The primary project will involve creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for documentation turnover, as well as developing clear and comprehensive explanations to support the engineering team. By the end of the internship, the intern will deliver a complete set of SOPs that streamline handoffs, improve onboarding efficiency, and enhance technical troubleshooting consistency across the team. This project provides an opportunity to apply technical writing and engineering skills to real-world operations while directly impacting team performance and customer support outcomes.

- Reviewing and analyzing documentation practices currently used by System Engineers.
- Drafting, editing, and standardizing SOPs for technical documentation turnover.
- Collaborating with engineers and technical support staff to ensure accuracy, clarity, and usability of SOPs.
- Developing supporting materials (e.g., workflow diagrams, reference guides) to assist the Technical Support Group in applying SOPs.
- Presenting finalized SOPs and recommendations to Technical Support leadership.
- In addition to the core project, the intern may assist with day-to-day documentation updates, participate in technical team meetings, and contribute to process improvement discussions, gaining exposure to the intersection of engineering and technical support operations.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong written communication and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly instructions.
- Familiarity with technical documentation tools or workflow diagrams is a plus.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to gather input from engineers and technical staff.
- Self-motivated, organized, and eager to contribute to improving technical support operations.
