- Process end-to-end payroll for a multi-state employee population, ensuring payroll is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Review and verify payroll data, including employee timecards, earnings, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and other payroll adjustments.
- Ensure accurate calculation and withholding of federal, state, and local payroll taxes, including managing payroll tax registrations as needed.
- Research payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Conduct regular payroll audits to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve payroll-related issues involving timekeeping, benefits, deductions, and employee pay.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for payroll-related questions from employees and internal business partners.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors to support payroll processing, system enhancements, and implementation projects.
- Maintain payroll system data, including employee records, system configuration, testing, and validation of updates.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required payroll documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, increase efficiency, and enhance payroll accuracy.
- Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll with a strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP GlobalView, SAP HCM, Oracle HCM, or similar enterprise payroll platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including creating formulas, analyzing data, and generating reports.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, garnishments, and payroll tax compliance.
