The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and serving as a resource for employees and managers across the organization. This role partners with leadership to support employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and HR initiatives that contribute to a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Assist managers with employee relations matters, performance concerns, and workplace issues.
- Support investigations and documentation related to employee concerns and policy violations.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate recruiting activities including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and offer administration.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
- Ensure all pre-employment and onboarding documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions regarding health, welfare, and retirement plans.
- Support annual open enrollment activities.
- Maintain employee compensation and benefits records.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Administer employment verifications, I-9 documentation, and other HR-related records.
- Support policy updates and implementation.
- Assist with performance review processes and employee development programs.
- Coordinate training initiatives and professional development opportunities.
- Track employee performance documentation and goals.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics related to hiring, turnover, headcount, and other key HR indicators.
- Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Support organizational change management and strategic HR initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of Human Resources experience.
- Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations principles.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of payroll, benefits administration, and compliance regulations.
