Key Responsibilities
- Partner with plant leadership and operations teams to analyze financial performance and support key business initiatives.
- Lead and support the monthly financial close process, including financial analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly plant and division financial reports with actionable commentary on results and trends.
- Manage and analyze manufacturing costs, including inventory valuation, standard costing, product costing, manufacturing variances, fixed assets, and capital spending.
- Support the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasting, and long-range financial planning while providing meaningful variance analysis and recommendations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through root cause analysis and partner with operations to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX, U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support division-wide reporting, cash-based costing initiatives, accounts receivable reviews, and special finance projects.
- Research accounting, transactional, and system-related issues while recommending scalable process improvements.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and help streamline finance processes to improve efficiency.
- Serve as a finance business partner by providing data-driven insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or financial analysis.
- Strong experience supporting monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
- Solid understanding of:
- Manufacturing cost accounting
- Inventory valuation and product costing
- Fixed asset accounting
- Financial statement analysis
- U.S. GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with proficiency in PowerPoint and ERP/financial reporting systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to present financial information to operational leaders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- CPA and/or MBA.
- Previous Controller or Plant Controller experience.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Khalix, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
