We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Research Specialist to join our client's team at their Charlotte headquarters. In this role, you’ll serve as a second level of support for payroll inquiries, working closely with managers across the U.S. to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll processing. You’ll also play a key role in audits, system improvements, and process optimization.
- Research and resolve payroll-related work orders escalated from Customer Service.
- Mentor associates, review work order accuracy, and provide coaching where needed.
- Perform root cause analysis on payroll issues and help develop preventive solutions.
- Apply payroll policies and procedures consistently across all cases.
- Leverage payroll systems (SAP, MySTAFF, MyRequests, etc.) and recommend enhancements.
- Streamline processes by automating manual tasks and eliminating redundancies.
- Support payroll audits and assist in developing new review practices.
- Prepare and deliver training for weekly Operations meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1 year of customer service/call center experience; large-volume payroll experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP Payroll (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Sherpa offers benefits to contract employees who meet the following criteria:
- Must be a full-time employee (30 weekly hours/ 130 hours per month) to be eligible
