Job Overview – HR Generalist (Operations) – 33830

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a strong background in supporting blue-collar workforces. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and has proven experience managing a small HR team (1–3 recruiters/HR specialists). The ideal candidate is a true HR Generalist who can balance day-to-day tactical support with strategic HR initiatives that impact employee engagement and organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage a small team of talent acquisition and HR specialists (1–3 direct reports).
  • Partner with operations leadership to support a blue-collar workforce in areas such as employee relations, staffing, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Oversee talent acquisition for hourly and salaried roles, ensuring timely and effective hiring.
  • Manage employee relations issues by conducting investigations, coaching managers, and ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
  • Administer and provide guidance on benefits programs, including open enrollment and employee inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Partner with leadership to maintain and promote a safety-first culture, supporting OSHA compliance and safety initiatives.
  • Support performance management processes including reviews, disciplinary actions, and corrective measures.
  • Develop and implement HR best practices that support employee engagement, retention, and career development.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers while balancing business needs with employee advocacy.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with exposure to blue-collar/industrial/warehouse/distribution environments.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing or mentoring a small HR/recruiting team.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with talent acquisition, employee relations, safety programs, and benefits administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to connect with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
