Position Overview

We are seeking a Account Executive to join our team. In this role, you will drive new business growth by identifying, qualifying, and securing clients across all of Shenandoah General Construction’s service offerings. This field-based role emphasizes outbound business development, in-person client meetings, and closing new accounts. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, results-driven professional who can build strong client relationships, generate new opportunities, and expand the company’s presence across municipal, commercial, and industrial clients within their assigned territory.

This role will focus on the Phoenix, AZ area, with responsibility for managing client relationships and business opportunities throughout the territory.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and target prospective clients, including municipalities, HOAs, industrial, engineering, healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting and cold calling to generate new business opportunities.
  • Schedule and conduct in-person client meetings, site visits, and presentations with decision-makers.
  • Develop, present, and deliver proposals for Shenandoah’s services.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, ensuring consistent lead generation, qualification, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate proposals and smooth project execution.
  • Utilize HubSpot CRM to manage leads, track activity, and maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
  • Provide market intelligence on industry trends, client needs, and competitor activity.
  • Meet performance goals and KPIs, including client meetings, proposals submitted, and revenue growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the business development team and company objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in field-based or service-oriented industries.
  • Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot or similar) to manage leads, track activity, and maintain pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in cold calling and outbound prospecting.
  • Strong client-facing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory and prioritize opportunities independently.
  • Familiarity with technical, construction, or service-driven industries is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within the territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in infrastructure, utilities, or construction services.
  • Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a field-based role.
  • Ability to understand and communicate multiple technical/service solutions to clients.
