Position Overview

Seeking a MIG Welder / Machine Operator to support the production of steel pipe systems for the fire sprinkler industry. This role involves welding carbon steel outlets onto steel pipe, performing specialty welding tasks, operating welding machinery, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.

Important: A weld test will be conducted during the interview. Candidates must bring their own welding helmet.

Key Responsibilities

• Weld carbon steel outlets onto steel pipe used in fire sprinkler systems.
• Perform specialty welding tasks including spool pieces, flanges, and related components.
• Operate welding equipment and machines while ensuring weld quality and consistency.
• MIG weld carbon steel and galvanized steel materials in the flat position.
• Inspect completed work for defects, dimensions, alignment, end preparations, and seam splits.
• Read and use a tape measure accurately to verify specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and repair needs promptly.
• Follow company quality, production, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MIG welding experience.
• Minimum 1 year of machine operation experience.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Experience welding carbon steel preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to pass an onsite weld test.

Preferred Experience

• MIG welding in the flat position.
• Experience working with carbon steel and galvanized steel.
• Manufacturing or industrial production environment experience.
