Key Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist
- Assess patients' physical abilities, mobility, strength, and functional needs
- Develop individualised treatment plans based on clinical assessments and patient goals
- Provide therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation interventions to improve movement and function
- Evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and strategies to support continued recovery
- Assist patients in improving balance, coordination, strength, and independence
- Recommend appropriate assistive devices and mobility strategies when required
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient progress
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Follow facility policies, patient safety procedures, infection control standards, and applicable regulations
Requirements of the Physical Therapist Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current Texas Physical Therapist license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Physical Therapist experience
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy assessment, rehabilitation techniques, and therapeutic exercise
- Excellent clinical, communication, and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
