Maine School Management Association (MSMA) is seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant I. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – this is an in-office position, five days per week.
MSMA is the service organization for the Maine School Boards Association and the Maine School Superintendents Association.
The successful candidate must be very detail-oriented and have exceptional time management skills. The job will require the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. The ideal candidate must have experience and knowledge of the non-profit accounts receivable process; possess excellent organizational skills; have the ability to identify, coordinate, and efficiently complete many diverse tasks; have excellent verbal and written communication skills; have the ability to maintain confidentiality of accounting information; have the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with in-office personnel and staff members working remotely; and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, opening and distributing incoming mail; completing the daily deposit in collaboration with other accounting staff; processing accounts receivable transactions in School ERP Pro accounting software; importing claim payments made from other software programs used within MSMA; reconciling bank statements; providing support to other clerical staff as needed; and performing all other duties as assigned by management. Knowledge of School ERP Pro software is preferred but is not required.
MSMA offers a competitive wage and benefits package. Rate of pay will be comparable for like positions.
