Crew Chief – Restoration Hands-On Field Leader
ServiceMaster by Singer
The Opportunity
Restoration is a skilled trade in a recession-resistant industry.
The economy may rise and fall, but disasters still occur. Homes and businesses must be restored.
At ServiceMaster by Singer, Crew Chiefs are working field leaders who perform restoration work while helping coordinate the job site.
This is not a management-only position. Crew Chiefs work with the tools alongside their team.
Typical crew size is 1–3 technicians, but on smaller jobs the Crew Chief may be the only technician on site.
In those situations the Crew Chief must be able to follow company procedures, complete the work correctly, and communicate with the homeowner.
What You Will Do
Crew Chiefs coordinate demolition and cleaning activities so work progresses safely and efficiently.
Typical work includes:
• controlled demolition of damaged materials
• debris removal and jobsite cleanup
• containment and debris control when needed
• assisting with water extraction and equipment setup
• managing materials and supplies on the job site
• protecting remaining contents and structure
• documenting work progress with photos and notes
• communicating with homeowners when the Project Manager is not present
Many jobs involve demolition and cleaning happening at the same time to keep production moving.
Physical Work Expectations
Restoration work is physically demanding.
Crew Chiefs must be able to work 8–12 hour shifts performing hands-on work in active job environments.
Daily work may involve:
• demolition and debris removal
• lifting equipment and materials
• working in warm, humid, dusty, or confined environments
• operating restoration tools and equipment
Candidates must be physically capable of performing the work alongside the crew for the full shift.
Required Field Experience
Crew Chiefs must have strong hands-on experience performing demolition or construction removal work.
This role requires someone who understands how to:
• perform controlled demolition
• remove drywall, flooring, and damaged materials safely
• manage debris while work is progressing
• maintain production pace on a job site
This is not an entry-level demolition role.
Candidates with professional demolition, interior strip-out, or construction removal experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Restoration Techniques (Trainable)
Restoration procedures can be taught through field training, including:
• containment setup
• debris and particulate control
• use of restoration tools such as Kett saws
• HEPA vacuum cleaning
• PPE safety procedures
These are learned quickly by candidates who already understand construction demolition work.
What We Look For

• strong work ethic
• production reliability
• process discipline
• ability to lead small crews
