The Corporate Fleet Safety Manager job is an administrative position responsible for training, enforcing, and auditing policies and procedures with respect to organization-wide fleet safety program, conducting post-accident investigations and coordinating with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Conducts thorough accident investigations of all serious or fatal DOT accidents that occur within the Company’s scope of business.
- Serves as the Company’s liaison to DOT/ FMCSA and any other state or federal regulatory agency and serve as the company’s designated employee representative (DER) for drug and alcohol reporting.
- Responsible for working closely with facility transportation managers/general management/ area transportation managers to ensure that fleet safety goals are met or exceeded at individual facilities throughout the Company.
- Implements the Company’s fleet audit/inspection program to include DOT driver qualification file, drug and alcohol, and commercial motor vehicle inspection compliance.
- Prepares detailed audit inspection reports for each facility inspected throughout the year.
- Develops, implements, and standardizes the Company’s fleet safety training and awareness program throughout the organization.
- Conducts onsite fleet training as needed throughout the Company to address specialized training needs of facilities.
- Works closely with the Risk Management Department to determine accident trends and areas in need of improvement and/or additional training, as well as serve as the point of contact for contract carriers/ brokers to vet potential contractors.
- Responsible for extensive travel to each facility throughout the Company.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university and at least five years experience in transportation/logistics management is required.
- Ability to work independently to complete projects.
- Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening, along with ability to interact efficiently with staff, management, and external partners.
- The individual must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced setting and adapt to changing priorities in deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint) is required.
- A valid commercial driver’s license is preferred for this position.
Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
