Compliance Manager

Service Specialists is recruiting on behalf of a growing manufacturing company seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this role is responsible for ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, SQF standards, HACCP requirements, and all applicable food safety and quality programs while driving continuous improvement across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the company's food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Serve as the SQF Practitioner, HACCP Coordinator, Food Defense Coordinator, and Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).
- Manage the Quality Assurance team and oversee compliance with FDA, state, and third-party audit requirements, including SQF, Organic, Kosher, and Gluten-Free certifications.
- Develop, implement, and monitor food safety policies, procedures, and quality systems.
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to improve product quality, reduce variability, and enhance manufacturing processes.
- Analyze quality data, investigate nonconformances, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead customer, regulatory, and third-party audits while ensuring ongoing audit readiness.
- Promote GMP compliance, food safety culture, employee training, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
- Participate in crisis management planning and support strategic initiatives related to quality and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Quality, or a related field preferred.
- Food manufacturing experience required.
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and food safety systems.
- HACCP Certification and PCQI Certification preferred.
- SQF Practitioner certification or experience implementing SQF systems strongly preferred.
- Previous leadership experience managing quality or compliance teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
