Overview
Hawk Line Construction is seeking proactive Safety Manager to lead the safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance programs. As the company's safety professional and subject matter expert, this role develops, implements, and oversees safety initiatives across transmission and distribution construction, maintenance, substations, storm restoration, fleet operations, and support services. Pay commensurate with experience.

This position partners with leadership and field personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, customer, and industry requirements while fostering a culture of safety excellence. Key responsibilities include developing safety programs, conducting field audits and incident investigations, delivering training, managing regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement to reduce risk and support a zero-incident workplace.

The role requires extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, NFPA 70E, DOT regulations, utility construction best practices, and applicable utility and customer safety standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader with the ability to influence safe work practices at all levels of the organization while supporting operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Electrical Engineering, or related field electric utility experience
  • Experience: 5 years of safety management in electric utility, power line, or high-voltage construction environment
  • Certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CUSP (Certified Utility Safety Professional) preferred; First Aid/CPR/AED required
  • Licenses: Valid driver's license; ability to obtain CDL if required by operations
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in incident management software, MS Office Suite, GIS tools; working knowledge of electrical power systems
  • Physical: Ability to access field sites, lift up to 35lbs, work in all weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
