Plant General Manager

Salary: $135k- $160k
Service Specialists is recruiting on behalf of a growing manufacturing company seeking an experienced General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and drive the overall success of the facility. This individual will be responsible for overseeing production, safety, quality, financial performance, and employee development while ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in manufacturing operations, team leadership, and process improvement. This role requires someone who can effectively balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution while fostering a positive, accountable workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, shipping, and safety.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Lead, coach, and develop managers and employees while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage budgets, control operating expenses, and support financial planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, food safety standards (if applicable), and company policies.
- Partner with leadership to develop production schedules, staffing plans, and long-term operational goals.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and improve efficiencies.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration across all departments to achieve business objectives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- 7 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven success leading multi-department operations and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, budgeting, inventory management, and operational planning.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
