We are seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house therapy team and help residents improve communication, cognition, swallowing safety, independence, and quality of life.
CCC-SLPs and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are encouraged to apply.
The Impact You’ll Make
As an SLP, you will help residents:
- Improve speech, language, voice, and functional communication
- Strengthen memory, attention, problem-solving, sequencing, and safety awareness
- Improve swallowing function and mealtime safety
- Reduce the risk of aspiration, dehydration, and malnutrition
- Use compensatory strategies and communication supports more effectively
- Communicate needs, preferences, and concerns with greater independence
- Maintain meaningful cognitive-communication abilities as they age
You will complete evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, provide skilled interventions, educate residents and caregivers, and collaborate with nursing, dietary, PT, OT, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility to complete a Clinical Fellowship Year
- Current South Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for provisional licensure
- Current CPR certification
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment-planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate, resident-centered approach
- Ability to work effectively with geriatric and medically complex populations
Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, dysphagia management, or geriatrics is preferred.
CFY candidates and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Qualified CFY candidates will receive the required supervision and mentorship.
