Position Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation that enables both technical and non-technical audiences to easily understand complex systems, processes, and tools. In this role, you will collaborate closely with analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams to gather information, develop high-quality content, and maintain consistent documentation standards across the organization.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented communicator with strong information architecture skills, a deep understanding of technology environments, and a passion for translating technical concepts into accessible content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation including user guides, manuals, API documentation, system/data flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand language for diverse audiences.
- Gather and analyze information by interviewing analysts, engineers, and subject matter experts.
- Organize and structure documentation using strong Information Architecture principles to enhance usability and content management.
- Research and document workflows, processes, features, and system behaviors.
- Support the planning, design, development, and implementation of technical controls, procedures, and policies related to compliance, risk, governance, and business-unit regulatory standards.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity through expert-level editing and proofreading.
- Apply knowledge of SDLC, COBIT, ITIL, and related frameworks to produce effective documentation.
Required Skills/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Information Systems, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience developing technical documentation in IT, software, analytics, or engineering environments.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced ability to translate technical processes and requirements into clear, user-friendly content.
- Strong proficiency with documentation tools and platforms (e.g., Confluence, Git, Markdown, MadCap Flare, SharePoint).
- Solid technical acumen, including familiarity with software development processes, data governance standards, and analytics methodologies.
- Ability to operate independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
